LDI ROW

Real-time Detection System for Oil on Water

The ROW (Remote Optical Watcher) is a self-contained non-contact sensor for detecting oil films as thin as 1 μm, with a range of up to 10 m.

Highly accurate and easy to maintain, it continuously monitors for oil leaks and spills in the environment or on industrial sites.

The ROW is available in three models:

  • ROW ALUMINUM, for common applications;
  • ROW ATEX EXD, designed for hazardous areas, packaged in a 316 stainless steel explosion-proof enclosure and certified ATEX and IECEx Zone 1;
  • ROW STAINLESS STEEL, designed for corrosive environments, packaged in a stainless steel housing.

All ROWs offer standard industrial outputs (Modbus, 4-20mA, relay contacts). Users can network several sensors to monitor multiple points across a vast area and every sensor can be connected with wireless telemetry systems.

Applications

As a method of pollution prevention, the ROW continuously monitors environmentally sensitive or localized industrial discharge of fresh and marine water against oil leaks and spills:

  • Drinking water
  • Waste water
  • Irrigation canals
  • Dams
  • Aquaculture
  • Industries
  • Power plants
  • Ports
  • Fuel depots
  • Refineries
  • Oil platforms
  • Airports

Main benefits

  • Non-contact instrument = no biofouling
  • Highly sensitive early detection for immediate alerts
  • Easy to implement
  • Flexible connection outputs to 3rd party telemetry systems
